We arrive here by a much different path than first planned, but here we are all the same. These three most recent stories (Stone of the Frank, The Monster Makers, and The Lich Queen,) I like to think of as their own story, a trilogy inside the larger narrative. I’m not sure what I’d call the overall set, but I wanted it to lead to this moment. The job I’ve done on it is debatable, but I am very happy with it, and it’s taught me a lot about the next story-inside-a-story I’m going to try.

The Lich Queen isn’t over yet, we’ve a few more weeks to go, but this was one of the two moments I was most looking forward too. Moment number two will come towards the end.

As for Thana, can the dead die? We’ll talk about that next week.
