First as a Child
Golems ‘curing’ is a device that will serve two purposes, one of which was planned. Broudor isn’t scheduled to have any lines for quite sometime. The fact that Heva spoke so soon after waking up was one of the first indicators to Merunga that something was wrong, golems aren’t supposed to speak so soon. Speech, and Broudor’s behavior developing slowly was in the the notes from day two. Their physical appearance changing first occurred to me as a usable idea when I noticed about 60 strips in, that I was drawing Golm much different than I had intended. The design for Broudor, very plain, no frills, is something I settled on last minute because poor time management. So the curing process here will allow me to move him somewhere that’s more visually interesting than he currently is.
Also, I’m going to try and jazz up everyone’s outfits. Partly because cosplay is awesome and that’s something I’d like to see at a con someday, and partly because they need new clothes. My timidness at design has held back their wardrobes long enough. There will be more of a through-line to the whole clothing sub-plot than that, however, for now, it’s simply about expanding their wardrobes.
