Ekho may not say much that the rest of us can understand, but Merunga speaks Squawk so they can get along reasonably well. Ekho will have a bigger role coming up, about three stops down the way, and not because she’s a Harpy, but because of what she used to be, which was still a Harpy, but it wasn’t only a Harpy.
Ooooh, geddit, Harpy princess cursed because she fell in love with a mere mortal, acquired human legs at the cost of inhumane pains (not to mention the loss of her tongue) only to get rejected by both her lover and her former people. Wait, Am I mixing my monsters again?
Could be. There is actually a different enchantment Ekho is afraid of, but it’s never happened and never will happen, she just does it to herself.
