Still a Price Worth Paying
Aaaaand this is the end of ‘A Stop Along the Way.’ I’m far enough ahead now that I’m writing this before I know how I want to play the next couple of weeks, and the next few stories. It’s a much better problem to have than ‘How late can I stay up tonight to finish tomorrow’s?’
The story that will take place at the Hovel, I am crazy excited about. It is a completely unplanned detour, but it will be a lot of fun.
hm..hm..so the buried guy was the woodcutter, he will probaly become like Vaagen later, something happened to the old man but we don’t really know what (doesn’t sound like sth bad though) and Maus Gramps just became vapirefood. did I get that right?
Yuup! The Old Man is now the tree. I think that’s one of those things that was clear in my head, and wasn’t clear in the strip, but because it was clear in my head I never got around to translating it. It’s also something we’ll talk more about, that Mouse and Merunga will talk more about, in the future.
oh the tree! ok, right, she said “I left a tree”. I didn’t get that. Nice!! ^_^
I’ve been following for a while now, but just caught up after a week away, and I just had to say how much I liked that last panel, and not because I’m a fan of vamps. I thought the artwork this week – writing as a reader, not an artist – was the cleanest and crispest ever. The story is confusing and sometimes hard to follow, but that could – note the conditional – be because I’m older, way older, and grew up with different story-telling traditions.
Well, I did try something different with my pencil work on today’s strip, and I’m glad it worked out, because that’s how I’m doing things from now on.
I like how you do things. It does look a little different today. I only noticed after Dad’s comment. I always found it really really nice that your work looks so obviously handdrawn. Like, that one can still notice the sketchlines and stuff (or however to call it). I hope that sounded right, it is supposed to be a compliment ^_^
The first few strips I tried really hard to erase those sketch lines, but it took a long time to get a finished image, and I also like that layer of construction under the image. I’m glad you like it!
