If I was a more designerly person I would have attempted to use the window layout as the panel structure of today’s page, it didn’t occur to me to try that until I’d already started lettering however. And I just don’t think that’s my style anyway. Layout wise, I’m a very by-the-grid kind of guy, I like standardized panels in standardized arrangements. JH Williams III creates gorgeous art, but his pages give me headaches. I know what panel to look at next, and what balloons to read in what order because he is such an amazing talent at that kind of thing, but it’s just not my bag.
