The King Seeks an Audience
We’ve actually met Eaor before, but it was a very brief introduction. He’ll play a larger part now. He also once was called Vikus, so I’m changing his name, he’s now Eaor Vikus, Or Vikus Eaor. Either way he’s also a mayor, so he’s known as Mayor Eaor by the folks.
I’ll admit to an ulterior motive with this story-line. There’s a comic-convention coming up that I can get to without unnecessary hassle. At this convention there will be portfolio reviews, and I’m taking this story up in hopes of getting a critique, feedback, possibly a job. A job would be kind of awesome for a couple of different reasons, mostly because I could pay someone to draw for me. Not Merunga, I’ll draw this one, but a couple of other projects I’d like to get off the ground. Some of them I could anyway if I was any good at time management.
The first year I went there was only a guy from Marvel. Not the most exciting, besides Silver Surfer I don’t really like any of their characters, and I’m pissed their movies are always of a decent quality while everything DC makes that isn’t Batman related blows chunks. I didn’t get the interview that year, but my submission was piss poor. I tried to cut too many corners and it came out looking like crap. If I can find the pages I’ll offer them up.
This year I’m in a much better position, now I know how to draw. Additionally, I know how to draw bigger. Filling up a tabloid size page is vastly different than a little a strip or the margins of your notebooks. I hadn’t fully appreciated how different until I tried the first time. Ahh, foolish youth.
