The Vampire Takes a Wife
I’m going to make a move into more digital shading. I like a few spots here and there that make me think it’ll be a value add to add values. I can sense that my slow transition into more digital work is gaining speed.
Working on the very first week of strips I swore I’d always work traditionally for artistic integrity. Which is a stupid reason to do anything. Also, it’s way easier to use the computer’s rulers than my rulers, and a lot less messy. If I could 100%recreate in the figure work what I can get out of a real pencil, and I had a super-fancy-schmancy Cintiq, I’d probably go more digital. But I also really like staring at binders full of penciled pages, thinking, ‘Holy shit, I drew all that.’
I had no idea vampires could burp. And Vaagen’s wife looks so prosaic walking away, like a businesswoman heading toward her car after a hard day’s work.
I don’t see why a vampire couldn’t burp, but unfortunately, that is not a vampire. Maybe a ‘Meanwhile, in Kev…’ caption box would have been appropriate there.
