A Bad Day in Pixieland
The first thing my daughter said when she saw this strip: “Whuh-oh, bad day in pixieland.” It’s a title as appropriate as any.
October is a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, Halloween is my favorite holiday, on the other hand, I don’t like any holidays, on the gripping hand, Christmas season is starting already, because October, and if Halloween is my favorite, Christmas is my least favorite. The upshot to all this holiday hullabaloo is October is the best old movie month of the year. Anything with Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, I love ’em all. I’m not a horror movie aficionado, if it was made after the late ’60s, I probably haven’t seen it, and don’t really care too, I barely like to watch anything out of the black-and-white era. Netflix is usually a good bet, TCM was, back when I had cable, have not checked Hulu, or Amazon Prime, but I’d be surprised if they weren’t on the old monster-movie bandwagon.
I think tonight, to commence the season, a classic, my first monster-movie, THE monster movie for those of us with weak stomachs, 1931’s Dracula.
