Cut and Run
Originally Vaagen was talking on this page as well, responding to whatever Bogdan was saying, but Bogdan wasn’t paying attention. After about three iterations of it, I cut Vaagen’s lines entirely and Bogdan didn’t notice, he just kept rambling on.
Also, a cautionary tale about too many revisions. My very first version of the last panel was my favorite, but I second-guessed myself and drew something much worse. So I tried a different approach which was better, but still not as good as the original. But by then, the pencil smudges were terrible, the eraser was tearing up the page, and I couldn’t recapture the first pencils. So I tried once more and came up with something that was almost like it was the first time, but not quite.
As a final note, that dude does look ever so slightly bull-like, doesn’t he? I think Merunga might trade in her horses for domesticated minotaurs.
Hmmm, hardy, probably able to steer without the help of the sons, just give them some armour and crossbows and they’re ready roll! Ah, screw it, give drivers crossbows as well, crossbows for everyone! …And yes, that includes the faeries too.
Nah man, nah, don’t want to draw crossbows, maybe slingshots, slingshots all around.
Works for me.
